Bean Museum Photo Contest

The votes have been tallied and I chose three of the best photos to enter into the Bean Museum Photo Contest. The awards will be announced February 5th (this Friday) and the exhibit will be open until March 8th. The photo show is always a fun activity, you will not be disappointed. If you are just dying to see which of the photos I chose, you will have to go to the show and see them for yourself.

Snowshoeing up Grove Canyon

On Martin Luther King Day, Adam, Annika, and I went hiking up Grove Creek Canyon. Because I am too lazy to write all the nitty gritty details I will just show you the pictures.

Then that weekend when Camille and I saw the fabulous new snow, we decided to go up the same canyon.

Hiking and Camping in the Snow

Troy and I went hiking behind Y Mountain Wednesday night and camped in a nice little meadow and froze our butts off.

Sunset on our way up.

Troy read me the Grinch Who Stole Christmas as my bedtime story.

We had tin foil dinners the night before and melted the snow right to the ground in the process.

Take a moment to silently mock a stranger

Yesterday while I was taking care on some business in the men's room, I heard a guy in the next stall who was wretching his guts out. Realizing that he was not the only person in the restroom he quietly apologized. "Finals that bad huh?" I asked. To this he replied, "No, I just found out that my stomach doesn't react well to nail polish." Suffice it to say that our conversation ended there.

Agent Bishop

When Mike got his dream job as an pistol slinging, bad guy killing FBI agent, he never thought he would also be called as an LDS bishop four times! Follow Mike as he recalls his rag-head killing adventures as an FBI agent and inspiration as a bishop. As Mike fought Osama bin Ladin and Satan he learned the importance of obedience in both jobs. This man preached repentance with a pistol in one hand and the bible in the other! Filled with surprises, unexpected thrills, and plenty of spilling blood, all told with humor and ease, Agent Bishop: True Stories from an FBI Agent Moonlighting as a Mormon Bishop is the perfect memoir for the pistol whipping FBI agent in all of us!

The Scientist

Melting 1.0000 gms of rock powder at 1000 degrees Celsius to perform X-Ray florecence spectrometry in order to determine the tectonic provnance of the Greater Himalayan psammites and pelites. Super fun stuff!
